Sexy Snippet: Witching Hour Madness

Celebrating the release of Knot in Destiny, the final book in the Star Crossed Series, I'll be dropping a sexy snippet everyday leading up to the release.

Witch Hour Madness

Catching Merediths hand, Malcolm tugged her away from the door that would lead them back to the party. Lifting his finger to his lips, he shushed her and tugged her deeper down the hallway. Curious, she followed. This was one of the many reasons she loved him. He seemed to understand without words, when she needed to breathe.

Pausing by one door, Malcolm listened carefully, but pulled away. Continuing down the hall, he glanced back at her and said, Logan Redgrove is the reason I moved down into Magic Town five years ago.

Hearing that made her heart flutter, but Meredith knew it wasnt true. When Malcolm stopped at another door and leaned in close to listen she whispered, No he isnt. You wanted to get away from your family.

Crossing the hall to the next door, Malcolm shook his head and said, No. I hated the idea of attending these events knowing youd be at his side. Logan never deserved you. No one did.

Malcolm paused a moment longer at the door, his hand still holding her at his side. Meredith reached out with her free hand and cupped his cheek. Pulling him away from the mystery door and leaning in, she said, Thats sweet.

A smile graced his lips and Malcolm leaned in. His forehead touched hers. And true. Then his lips were on hers and the world melted away. As the soft velvet of his tongue swirled against hers she heard the door open and then he was moving her from the poorly lit hallway into the room.

This story caught me off guard. Malcolm's plans were a surprise when the story started and everything leading up to the end had me on pins and needles. Meredith stood strong and proud as she's settled into her role as family head. I'll never forget crying at the end. The tears continued through the writing or Knot in Destiny.

Witching Hour Madness

The Witching Hour is upon them, and Meredith Blackburn finds herself navigating family politics and community gossip. When the doors lock down, so does her magic, and she starts to wonder about the foreboding feeling that has been tickling her neck all night.

With Meredith at his side, Malcolm Blackwood is ready to face the elite magic community he once ran away from. Asked to help track down a missing magical threat, he finds something more frightening than the golden ring in his pocket.

Sexy Snippet: Caught by Nightfall

Celebrating the release of Knot in Destiny, the final book in the Star Crossed Series, I'll be dropping a sexy snippet everyday leading up to the release.

Caught by Nightfall:
Warm fingers inched their way under the hem of her shirt and flattened over her lower back. You’re so much more than just the head of your family. You’re beautiful…” Here, Malcolm dropped a quick kiss on her left cheek. Sexy…” Another kiss, this time on her right cheek. Smart…” A peek on her nose. And perfect.” The last part was whispered against her lips.

Malcolm’s mouth caressed hers slowly, as if he was giving her the chance to push him away. Returning the kiss, Meredith kept it gentle. She wanted to prolong the feeling of apology. When at last their lips parted, she lowered her head and nuzzled her nose over the hollow of his throat. As she took in the honeyed earth rich scent that he always seemed to wear, he asked, So, are you still mad at me?”

Tickling the back of his neck, Meredith moved her mouth up and forced his chin to lift as she dotted his neck with small kisses. No.

Meredith felt his entire body relax at the simple word and grinned when he said, Good. It was killing me.”

Pulling back just enough to look up at him, Meredith lifted up on her toes to rub her nose playfully against his. The motion pressed her body more firmly against him, connecting them from thighs to chest. You going to do it again?” she asked as he started kissing a slow path across her jaw.

Malcolm paused, his lips just above her skin. Meredith held her breath, waiting for him to answer. After a second, he whispered, I promise I won’t drag you into trouble anymore.”

The heat of their relationship was so strong. Even when one of them was mad it still burned. Moving beyond the flare of the first book, this one took me deeper into the path of relationship growth. It's true, Malcolm had a way of pulling Meredith into trouble, but somehow it always worked out in the end.

Caught by Nightfall

Meredith Blackburn finds herself between a rock and a hard place now that her relationship with Malcolm has led her to magical breaking and entering. Someone is playing around with the rivers of magic that flow over the planet and the oldest library around expects her to figure out who.

All Malcolm Blackwood wanted was a handful of new tracking spells. What he got was an angry lover, a conflicting revelation from his brother and some old kook trying to start a war. Now it’s up to him and Meredith to set things right.

Will they save the day? Or will family get in the way?

Sexy Snippet: Just Beyond Daybreak

Celebrating the release of Knot in Destiny, the final book in the Star Crossed Series, I'll be dropping a sexy snippet everyday leading up to the release.

Just Beyond Daybreak

Pushing herself away from the counter, Meredith wandered among the paper columns. She could feel Malcolm watching her and hoped she looked as confident as she normally felt. As she moved through the room it became clear that his apartment was almost completely dedicated to magical research. Not realizing how close she had wandered to the man, Meredith paused when she spotted an odd set of hand-drawn symbols on a sheet of paper half hidden under an aged book.

Her hand lifted to uncover the rest of the page when Malcolm’s hand shot out and grabbed her wrist. Meredith instantly jerked around to meet smoldering blue eyes. Power fired off in those unfathomable depths, stealing her breath for a second and sending a warm tickle through her lower belly. He hadn’t moved away from the couch and was still stretched out, but somehow he seemed to have grabbed control of the situation. The way he stared up at her was both inviting and intimidating at the same time.

Steadying her breath, Meredith quirked an eyebrow and asked, “Don’t feel like sharing either?”

He stared at her for a long moment before letting out a long sigh. “Not really, so if you’re done judging my lifestyle, please show yourself out,” he said, letting go of her.

The sudden loss of his heat around her wrist sparked disappointment, but Meredith tightened her jaw and let her hand drop from the stack of books. “Maybe I should be talking to your brother instead,” she mumbled, stepping away from the man.

The beginning of their relationship and the doubt that comes with it. Writing Just Beyond Daybreak was fun and began as a challenge. Someone dropped the prompt to write a story where one main character caught the other main character in the compromising situation. For those who've read the story, you know what that was. These characters were supposed to fade away after this first story, but after some time they became more and needed more. And the series was born.

Just Beyond Daybreak

When the source of her family’s magical energy and life force is stolen, Meredith Blackburn is left with little choice, but to search out the best magical tracker she knows. Unfortunately Malcolm Blackwood is more than just a tracker, he is also a man who captivates Meredith’s thoughts.

She strolled into Malcolm’s life with a job that he didn’t want, but instantly he regretted turning her away. Now, with his own family relics in danger, Malcolm finds himself unable to leave Meredith behind.

Can they save the Blackburn bloodline? Or will family ties tear them apart?
