A Sexy Dilemma

It's a My Sexy Saturday post and it's all for you! This week's theme is A Sexy Dilemma and I've pulled a dilemma from my latest novel, Lost Relic. As a choose your own adventure, this story allows the reader to make choices for our heroin, Lillian. So here's a sexy dilemma for my readers. Which man do you choose?

Daniel flashed a sad smile and said, “You’re a beautiful and smart woman. Do you trust Alex not to run off leaving a mess in your hands or do you want to come with me and we’ll make sure this discovery is recorded the right way?”

Lillian could only stare at him. He was asking her to leave Alex, drop him from the expedition and her life. It was an idea so far from left field that it had blindsided her, but somehow she was considering it.

“Well, Lil, what do you think?” Alex asked from behind her. “Do you go off with Daniel or do you want to stay with me?”

“Alex?” Lillian asked, pulling away from Daniel’s hand and turning to keep both men in sight.

Alex wasn’t even really looking at her. He was staring daggers at Daniel and Lillian could see the tense line of his jaw as he ground his teeth together. “He makes a good point, Lillian, and you are smart enough to figure this out. I am interested in the disk, but I’m not planning on running off after I get it.”

“Then what are you going to do with it?” Lillian asked, turning more fully to face him.

Finally looking at her, Alex’s eyes softened. “It’ll be my profit from this expedition. I don’t want a cut of anything else. Just that disk. So, now you know what I’m after. Do you trust me or do you not?”

That's it for this week. Hope you enjoyed and remember to hop on over to the other blogs for more great reads!

My Sexy Saturday: Sexy Today

http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.com/Time for another Sexy Saturday! This one is simple: Sexy Today and it is an open theme. I've picked a WIP piece for his blog hop. In this story two powerful magic users are struggling to get past their differences. Don't forget to check out the other great blogs along the hop!

Just Beyond Daybreak snippet:

The dominating tone in her voice made that anger snap and he grabbed her again, spinning her around and pressing her back to the dingy brick wall. She tried to lash out at him with her free hand, but he quickly pinned that one along with the other. Taking it a step further, Malcolm leaned his full body into her. Bowing his face so close to hers that he could see shock and a touch of fear in her eye. “Listen here, Miss Blackburn. I don’t give a damn about your Dragon’s Eye, but I do care about my spell books and one of them is missing. What do you have to do with that?” Malcolm snarled.

Her breathing was heavy, and every breath pressed her breasts against his chest. Any other time he would not risk this closeness, but anger and determination was stronger than lust alone. He watched her pink tongue slip over her lush bottom lip and waited for her answer. It seemed to take her a second to gather words, but when she did answer him he was surprised that her voice was unwavering. “I told you it might happen. I warned you, but you didn’t give a damn then.”

Letting out a little growl of frustration, Malcolm said, “My book, Meredith? Where is it?”

“I don’t know. That’s why I came to you. To track down whoever stole the Dragon’s Eye. They must have taken your spell book too,” Meredith said through gritted teeth. “Now are you going to let me go?”

He could see the sparks of magic shooting through her eyes now. Her own anger must have been held on a tight leash to reel in the temper he knew she had. Normally the hot blooded woman would have blasted him faster than he could blink. She would have fought tooth and nail before letting him put her in this position, but not now. Still pressed up against her, Malcolm lowered his voice to a husky whisper. “You’re magic’s fading, Meredith.”

She let out a little gasp as he said the words. She knew her magic was leaving her and like him she knew what that meant. Without the magic flowing through her veins her body would stop, unable to function without the borrowed power. Slowly her tension faded away and she sagged against the wall. Malcolm’s heart nearly broke when Meredith’s bowed head gave a little nod. Relaxing his hold on her wrists, he fought the urge to wrap her in a comforting hug and took a step back instead.
With her head still bowed and her blood tinted hair hanging over her face, Meredith softly said, “I didn’t steal your book, Malcolm, but I have to get the Dragon’s Eye and I bet wherever it is your book is too.”

That's it for this week. Hope you enjoyed.

My Sexy Saturday: You're So Sexy

http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.com It's time for another My Sexy Saturday blog hop. This week's theme is "You're So Sexy" and while I'm not sure I found a snippet that fits that theme I do think it'll work. Don't forget to check out all the other great authors in the blog hop by surfing through the links at the end of the post.

This bit is from a work in progress, Fire Hunt. Our leading lady is dancing at a family member's wedding and our hero can't seem to take his eyes off her. Enjoy!

 Fire Hunt peek:

Back at the front of the fire, Michel took a long braided cord and tied the couple's hands together. “Turn and face the world with renewed strength and support,” Michel said and quickly followed it with, “Don't forget to kiss her.”

A roaring cheer went up from the crowd as the couple move towards the tables and chairs setup along the edge of the clearing. The audience moved with them, opening up a space that quickly filled with a steady drum beat. The crowd turned and instantly a blue swirl of satin soft silk stole his attention from everything else.

Julia twirled into the clearing along with two other woman Edmund didn't bother to recognize. His mind zeroed in on the gold and blue that hugged Julia's body. The costume wasn't the skimpy belly dancer dress. This more traditional gypsy dress hugged just the right spots, fit loosely enough in others and allowed just a peek-a-boo of Julia's mid-drift to show. Golden coins jingled around her wrists and ankles. As she spun, dipped and stretched Edmund saw the value of leaving somethings to one's imagination.

The dance was a blessing from the Great Mother on the new marriage. If the dancers faltered in their steps the couple were fated to part, but as Julia dipped low, reaching her fingertips to her bare toes, Edmund knew the dance was perfect. The bright smile on her face seemed to fill her with brilliant new light. He could tell she was home.

When the dancers circled and came closer to him, Edmund's eyes fell to the roll of her hips and the graceful bump of her behind. What he wouldn't give to come home to that smile everyday and crawl into bed with those hips every night. Julia was perhaps the perfect woman.

The dance ended in a flourish and Julia, along with the other dancers, disappeared in the crowd. Edmund looked for the glint of gold on her costume as he moved passed the people. A few smiled, shook his hand and welcomed him home. All the while a strip of blue or a peek of blonde teasing him through the crowd. His heart picked up a beat when a whiff of her perfume drifted by.

Edmund saw her stop and smile at an older woman. Hurrying over, he just barely caught her before she began to walk away again. When he managed to capture her hand new music had hummed to life. Edmund pulled Julia back, causing her to spin around. As her skirt twisted around, Edmund smiled at her surprised look. “Dance?” he asked, pulling her further into the crowd that had already started moving with the music.

That's all for this sexy addition of My Sexy Saturday. I hope you liked it and don't forget to support your local starving authors!

Howloween Blog Hop

Happy Halloween! I'm taking a few moments from my Samhain celebrations to bring you a post for the Howloween Blog Hop. To get your howl on and hop from blog to blog exploring other great authors and their posts just follow the links below. You can also enter to win a $50 amazon gift card from the blog hop host, Romance Blog Hops. Giveaways and such are listed below the post.

As for the post today I was thinking I'd share a tidbit from one of my stories, but they are surprisingly void of Halloween topics. Strange considering I write on many paranormal topics. So here's a run down of why Halloween is the best time of year to play with the beasties.

Halloween Beastie Fun
  1. Halloween is a free for all. Kind of. It's a lot like Vegas. What happens on Halloween should stay with Halloween night. So long as it isn't illegal.
  2.  No matter what flavor of paranormal you love they all come out at Halloween. I outgrew vampire love years ago, but a cute vamp walking around might re-spark my interest. (As long as they don't sparkle.)
  3. Halloween is the time when the paranormal is at its most powerful, depending on which myth you go by, and that's sure to equal some extra fun and adventure with your chosen beastie.
  4. Rather have the monster slayer or the demon hunter. I'm sure one or more of them might be roaming around hunting down our lovely beasties.
Well there you have four great reasons to go out and enjoy a romp with the beasties this year. Before heading out make sure to stop by the other great blogs for giveaways and more Halloween treats!

My Sexy Saturday: One Sexy Lady

My Sexy Saturday

It's time for another My Sexy Saturday post. This week they're asking for our best "One Sexy Lady" excepts. So I get to show off in 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs one of my leading ladies. This week I'm featuring an except from one of my WIP. In this scene I start to wonder if my leading lady likes her sidearm more than her romantic counter part.

Rip Tide (working title)

"A sudden squeal broke the silence of the hallway, and Kara snapped her head around just in time to see a young girl racing down a side hall towards them. She had just a second to take in the sight of the busty girl before she had to step back to let the girl speed past her. She watched as Phinn turned just in time to catch the girl as she threw herself at him. Kara felt herself grinding her teeth as she saw the girl’s small foot press against the caster gun to launch herself higher into Phinn’s tight hug.

The girl wrapped herself around Phinn. Kara felt her eye twitch as the girl’s thigh rubbed against the belt of caster shells at Phinn’s waist. Kara felt aggravation run through her. The girl had dropped her head onto his shoulder and was most likely crushing her caster shells between her thigh and Phinn’s hip. “Nancy, it’s good to see you,” he said as his hands lifted up to start prying the girl’s arms from around his neck.

“Phinn, why’ve you been gone so long? I missed you,” the girl whined clinging to him tighter and wiggled her bottom a little, grinding against him. When Phinn finally looked up at Kara he gave her half a smile, but Kara knew she must have a horrifying look on her face because Phinn lost his smile and his eyes went a little wide.

“Nancy, I’d like you to meet someone,” Phinn said hurriedly. The girl lifted her head from Phinn’s neck and obediently dropped her feet back to the ground, but looped her arm around his waist to keep him close. “Thank you,” Phinn said with a smile. Reaching out with his free arm, Phinn placed his hand at the small of Kara’s back and she felt her breath hitch a little at the touch. “This is Kara, a lady friend of mine. Kara this is Nancy, Aaron’s little sister.”

The girl stared at Kara for a long second with narrowed eyes before moving her arms away from Phinn and crossing them over her chest. Kara met her stare briefly before reaching down in one smooth motion and pulling her caster from Phinn’s left side. Just as her fingers wrapped around the hilt his hand shot up and caught her wrist. Kara gave him a hard look, before hissing, “My caster is not a foot prop.”

Phinn reluctantly released Kara, and gave her a slight nod. “But I’m keeping the shells,” he said, letting her take back the weapon. The hard line of his jaw accented the outline of his lips and Kara felt a fleeting urge to kiss him. Even the smoldering look in his eyes was enough to make her pause for a second, but she recovered quickly and took a step away from him.

“Fine, but take them off before anyone else tries to crush them. They aren’t that easy to find,” she said securing the caster to the magnetic strap sawn into the outer thigh of her pants. Looking back at the girl, Kara gave her a nod. “Nice to meet you, Nancy.” She judged the girl to be in her late teens, no more than nineteen years old at most, and refused to wonder too much about the unhealthy attachment she had to Phinn."

That's it for this week. Make sure to check out the other great writers in this My Sexy Saturday blog hop.
