#MFRWHooks: Witching Hour Madness

Today, you lovely readers get a snippet from the new release, Witching Hour Madness. Meredith and Malcolm are attending a Samhain Ball. Malcolm is clearly not in his comfort zone, but with Meredith by his side he feels he can accomplish anything!


Snippet:

It was a strange sensation being moved without seeing where she was going, but Meredith didn’t care. Malcolm’s hands were guiding her and she knew he’d never lead her to harm. When his hands turned her and their lips parted, she followed. Getting her first glimpse of the room, she saw a small space that would normally be used as some kind of office or storage space. A long counter stretched against the entire length of the back wall and wrapped halfway across a side wall.

Malcolm’s lips brushed over her shoulder. Meredith felt a tingle. The mark he had placed on her shoulder almost a year before had left the slightest scar, but every time he touched it, magic still flared between them. The mark had joined his magic with hers and it had saved her life, but now it served as a direct reminder of the emotional connection they shared.

He walked her forward, his hands on her hips and his breath tickling the back of her neck. “When I put this mark on you, I did it thinking that Logan Redgrove would hate me. I knew it would scar and he would hate me for marking the woman who was supposed to be his wife.”

Shivering, Meredith dipped her head and reached forward to brace herself on the counter. “I had broken the engagement off months before that,” she whispered back, trying to take control of her quaking voice.

The edge of his teeth scrapped over the mark and Meredith sucked in a sharp breath. “I didn’t know that,” Malcolm said, soothing the spot with a slow lick of his tongue. “All I knew was my mark was on a woman I never thought I could have.”
