The Book Signing

Yesterday was a great day. The Book Smith, a local book store, hosted my first book signing and it was almost magical for me. The Book Smith was the first book store I got lost in as I explored the wonderful adventures. It was the store that watered the seed of my love for the written word.

The book signing went well. As expected, not a lot of people showing up on a Monday morning for an unknown local author, but a few books sold and I met some very interesting people.

As someone who would prefer to stay locked up and writing, I was worried about it. People and socializing isn't one of my skills, but I'm happy it turned out to be really fun. And I think it gave me a boost of encouragement to maybe try to attend other gatherings.

A big shout out to The BookSmith staff and the lovely owner for being so awesome!

Projects, Deadlines and Book Signing... Oh My!

It's been busy busy for me. I've dug deep and found my muse for a number of projects that had been resting on the side lines. A great opportunity came up and I'm working to meet self-set deadlines to get that going. And the big news! The owner of a local book store offered me a book signing spot.

The Projects:

The Dreamweaver stories have bubbled back to life and I've been brainstorming and outlining the final story in the set, Noble Intent. These two characters are a pretty independent couple and they like giving me a surprise here and there. The first two stories have also been taking up some time. They need a great deal of editing and a number of scenes that need tweaking and expanding.

A new interactive romance, this one closer to my true love of paranormal, has also been on my mind. What happens when you throw a werewolf, a vampire and a supernatural hunter together. I'm finding out. It's a wild ride.

Meredith and Malcolm have been making themselves known too. While I have an idea, I'm not sure exactly what Malcolm has planned, but it's big and he, of course, is dragging Meredith along the way. A squeal to Just Beyond Daybreak is in the works and I look forward to seeing where it leads.

Deadlines:

I can't talk much about the great opportunity, but I can say this: Gaming! I love text games and really really love coming up with game stories. My husband is a gamer and plays a lot of RPGs. We spend hours coming up with different game concepts.

The sci-fi romance I've had on the back burner for a good long while is still there and I hope to get to work on it once the Dreamweaver stories are finished. Until then I've set myself an end of Feb deadline to finish a short story, Symphony of Starts. This story is being posted to PenPee and so far I'm loving the flow.

Book Signing!

This one is really exciting for me. My first book signing is coming up. On Feb 26th I'll be at The Book Smith, a local book store, signing copies of Just Beyond Daybreak. The nerves are twitching and I can't stop smiling when I think about it. Once I started trying to get everything ready for it I realized I was woefully unprepared. Putting myself out there is scary and yet I can't wait.

That's it for today. Just a little catch up.

Peace and Love!
