When librarian Sarah Anderson stumbles across a rare book belonging to the Knights of the Dragon, she's quickly thrust into a dangerous world of secrets and shifters and things she never would have believed possible. When the Knights realize Sarah has a secret of her own, she becomes just as much a target as Darius. Her scary dragon shifter just might be her best chance at survival.

Jepp has been the heart of the queen’s elite guard, her Hawks, since long before war split her homeland. But the ease and grace that come to her naturally in fighting leathers disappears when battles turn to politics. When a scouting party arrives from far-away Dasnaria, bearing veiled threats and subtle bluffs, Jepp is happy to let her queen puzzle them out while she samples the pleasures of their prince’s bed.

But the cultural norms allow that a Dasnarian woman may be wife or bed-slave, never her own leader—and Jepp’s light use of Prince Kral has sparked a diplomatic crisis. Banished from court, she soon becomes the only envoy to Kral’s strange and dangerous country, with little to rely on but her wits, her knives—and the smolder of anger and attraction that burns between her and him . . .

NaNoWriMo: The End is Nigh

It's been a rough month and with only two days left and with some 30k words left to write on Whispering Winds I'm left with only this: It is a great start.

I still plan on writing more over the next two days. I will add thousands of words. Of that, I'm sure, but I don't believe I'll make the goal of 50k. That's okay. It was a challenge that has still improved some facet of my skill. Which skill has yet to be seen, but I know it's there and that's enough.

Whispering Winds has gone back and forth between this is going awesome and this is complete crap. Isn't that how so many projects go? The story has a foundation that I do want to keep working with and I will.

My wonderful husband sat me down and addressed my frustrations with this story. He didn't say much. Instead he let me rant and rave about pieces that just weren't falling into place quickly enough to meet the 50k word count. From characters acting out to scenes that just didn't fit. He sat through it all and it helped. The story seems more clear at the moment and I plan on adding to it.

It is a great start and I'll keep it tucked away in a folder for later, but once December rolls around my goals change. Throughout this month another story has been demanding my attention. My dreamweaver story is very close to being complete and if I've learned anything it's that I should not put off one active story that's rolling along perfectly fine for a brand new project. That's just asking for trouble and a mistake I won't be repeating.

NaNoWriMo: Where I'm at (or not)

Hello all you lovely readers!

I meant to update my NaNoWriMo writing progress once a week or so this year, but life has once again gotten in the way of my plans. I live in Upstate SC and we've been having wild fires blaze up on three sides of us. I've lost some of my favorite hiking trails and smoke has been very thick around our home. There is also the unrest throughout the rest of the country that has a lot of people in a muddle.

And that's why I am soooo far behind on my writing goal. So so so far. Whispering Winds is standing at roughly 16k as I write this and I'm hopeful that I can add at least a few thousand words today. However on the 18th my writing goal should be 30k. That's a lot of writing to catch up on, but I'm going to tackle the task and do my best to catch up!

The story itself is rolling along rather slowly. Characters are redeveloping themselves as I go and the scenes have shuffled themselves about into a brand new order. So really, the outline has flown out the window again. Happens every year. :)

I have a few writing buddies who are so close to the 50k mark and I'd like to give a shout out to them and the other awesome writers meeting their goals.

To the writers standing in the boat with me I can only say: You've got this! Never give up! Never surrender!

That's it for now.

Though the estate appears idyllic, it holds dark secrets, and despite his own supernatural gifts, Graham can’t solve Adare Manor’s problems by himself. Desperate for help, Graham seeks out a last resort: Helena, whose skills are far greater than even she knows.

When he promises to teach her to control her powers, Helena resists, afraid both of the damage her abilities might do and her increasing attraction to the handsome groundskeeper. Her entire way of life is at risk: Any involvement, especially romantic, with non-Travellers like Graham is forbidden. But Helena’s future is anything but certain, and fate has other plans for her family, her powers, and her relationship with Graham.

NaNoWriMo: And So It Begins

NaNoWriMo 2016 Participant FlairYesterday was the official start of NaNoWriMo and so let the race to 50k begin!

And so I have. Yesterday I got just under 2k words typed into my WIP, Whispering Winds. Most of that was even for the beginning of the story. I'm going to try and avoid skipping around through scenes, but I know it'll happen anyway.

This year my story is completely new. The idea began last year when I was working a second job in a gas station. The place was haunted, I swear, and gave me the eerie feeling that made me wonder about how a ghost romance would work. I tucked it away and jotted down notes here and there while I focused on my other works. When I missed the Camps I knew I was going to take the big dive into November and this story poked it's head up from the haze. I spent October doing research and loose plotting.

I use images a lot to help inspire my muse. Finding images for a ghost story romance is harder than I thought, but I did manage to find a few things that speak to the story. The one below I'm using as the temporary cover for Whispering Winds. I played with it a little, but it has been the closest image I can find that brings to mind two of my main characters.

Every author uses different things to inspire them. Some do all the research, character building and plotting before they write the first word. Others go by the seat of their pants and just start writing, more than willing to work out the details as they go. I'm somewhere in between. I do a lot of research and get to know my characters before writing most of the time, but it's during the writing that I learn their quirks. That can lead to a bit of a fight as I'm writing, but it's a nice surprise too.

That's it for now.

My Sexy Adventure

http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.com/It's a My Sexy Saturday post and this week's theme is My Sexy Adventure. What better way to celebrate this theme than with a scene from Lost Relic, an interactive romance adventure! I hope you enjoy and make sure to hop over to the other blogs along the way.

Lost Relic snippet:

Keeping his hand hovering by her lower back, Alex said, “Still. I’ll walk you to your room.”

Dipping her head and flashing a smile, Lillian said, “Very well then.”

As they made their way across the deck Alex’s hand managed to make contact again, offering support. His warm hand pressed against her back as he walked her down the breezeway was a startling intimate connection. Nimble fingers slowly teased the fabric of her blouse. Lillian never thought the simple caress of fingers through cloth could cause her to feel so raw.

Lillian was a bundle of tense nerves by the time they made it to her door. When she stepped inside she didn’t expect Alex to grab her hand and turn her to look back at him. “I would like something besides the money, Miss Wiskton.”

Swallowing the lump that suddenly formed in her throat, she fluttered her lashes and asked, “What’s that, Mr. Martin?”

He took a step closer, one foot entering her room, and leaned in closer. “A goodnight kiss,” he whispered just before crushing her lips with a hard kiss. She was defenseless against the sudden heat that rushed through her and when he brushed his tongue against her mouth she let her lips part.

Alex stepped forward, forcing her further into the room, and wrapped an arm around her waist. As he drug her up against him she heard the door slam. Lillian reached up and hooked one arm over his shoulder, letting her fingers lace through his soft hair.

That's it for this week.

A day or two late, but we're still here with some great October reads for everyone!

Wild by Eve Langlais, Kate Douglas & A.C. Arthur

WildIn Catch a Tiger by the Tail by Eve Langlais, Broderick has a job to do—audit the books of a gentleman’s club. Sounds simple, except his company wants him to find dirt linking to the mob, his secret mob employer wants someone to pin the blame on, and the bar manager at the heart of the controversy doesn’t want him—even though she’s his mate.

In Wild Passions by Kate Douglas, six women—friends closer than sisters—head off to an exclusive mountain resort for a week-long bachelorette getaway, where most of the women just wants to know if there are any good men left in the world. There are, and they’re the men of Feral Passions, a unique resort located on a private wolf preserve, owned and run by a pack of sexy werewolves who use it as their own personal hunting ground for mates.

In Her Perfect Mates by A.C. Arthur, Malec Zenta was part of a loving lycan family until his twin brother’s suicide took a piece of his soul. Channing Verdi never knew his parents, but that was fine because at the age of sixteen on the night of the full moon, he realized his purpose. The only pleasure these two betas have managed to find in their life was in the bed with the women they shared. Now, a human woman has entered their lives...a woman who sets their primal instincts on fire, a woman they can’t help but stake their claim on...and give her the ultimate pleasure of being with two shifters at once.

NaNoWriMo Prep (2016)

Image result for NANoWriMo graphics 2016Every year I set a goal to participate in NaNoWriMo. Whether it's one of the camps or the November event, I push myself to set writing goals and write alongside other authors. The first year I did NaNoWriMo I wrote over 40k words for my first published piece, Witch Hunt. The following years saw large chunks of Fox Hunt and Fire Hunt completed. Last year I completed my 30k goal with Lost Relic and this past summer it was published.

To me that means that when I push myself to complete a writing goal I'm more likely to finish it and get it out to readers. That's some awesome motivation to join in and get to writing.

This past summer and spring I wasn't unable to join Camp NaNoWriMo because of an illness in the family. So next month is my last chance to take part this year and I'm determined to do it. I've tucked away a story idea just for this year. It stayed untouched for months waiting for it's chance and when I pulled it out last week I was happy to find it just as fresh in my mind as the moment I scribbled it down on a receipt.

The Prep

Some years I fly by the seat of my pants and wait until it all starts to get the story underway. Not this year. I can't set a lower word count goal in November like I can during the camps. So 50k is the goal and that's a lofty challenge. At least for me.

Character sheets, plot and other bits of the story need a little developing. This has already started. Scenes have already started coming to mind and I'm trying my best to keep these all contained to a notebook. (Love my computer and phone, but I also love pen and paper)

Another part of the prep work is advancing my current WIP to a point where I can pick it back up after November. Because of family illness this piece hasn't gotten the attention it normally world so I've got a good bit of catch up to do.

I'm also going to need to prep some frozen meals for my family. They've gotta eat too! Don't get me wrong. I'll still cook for the hubby and pumpkin, but I know there will be evenings where pulling away from the story just won't happen. On those nights I plan on having something for them and the hubby is awesome enough to be okay with that.

And that's the prep at this point. Development, advancing WIP and looking for at home frozen meal recipes. If you happen to know a good recipe that freezes well let me know in the comments!

Peace and Love!

My Sexy Soul Mate

http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.comThis week's My Sexy Saturday theme is My Sexy Soul Mate and I couldn't think of a better couple than Rei and Aidan from Witch Hunt. Enjoy and make sure to visit the other blogs!

Witch Hunt excerpt:

Aidan watched her try to tug her arm away from him. She was putting all of her strength into it, but
he was determined to hold her until she understood. Looking down into her deep eyes, Aidan wondered if she might understand what he was about to tell her, after all. Sucking in a long breath, he asked, “You know about mates?”

Rei let out a groan of frustration as she tugged a last time at her arm. “I know what my grandfather told me. Lifelong commitment. That’s about it.”

“Rei, Tessa isn’t my mate. She wants to be, but never can be. I can have only one mate. Only one woman can ever carry my child,” he explained. As the last few words let his mouth, he felt Rei’s arm go a little lax in his grip. “Tessa and I are not compatible. We never have been, but she will not accept that. Her true mate died years ago, without giving her a cub. The pack feels for her, but she wants a cub so badly she keeps looking.” Aidan knew the story sounded odd to people outside of pack and hoped that Rei could hear the truth of his words.

He could see her eyes narrow a little as she thought about what he was saying. Fury still danced across her fierce eyes, but Aidan knew reason would start to form at some point. Finally, running her tongue over her teeth, Rei asked, “And just how does someone know they’ve found their mate?”

“A wolf knows his mate by smell, by heat, and by passion. You are my mate, Rei, and I can’t let you leave,” Aidan explained. Searching her face, he saw shock and confusion. All the fury was still there, but it had been pushed back. Aidan had a feeling it was only waiting in reserve for later.

Rei went very still beside him. He knew she had little knowledge about wolves, let alone their mated couples, and understood the confusion she was struggling against. After what seemed like several long minutes like this, Rei’s rolled her eyes, and she let out a low, defeated sigh. “Aidan, I’m not a wolf. I can’t be your mate,” she said, letting her arm go completely limp.

“Rei, you are my mate. I cannot explain why, but I know it is possible. Other wolves have found their mates in witches like you,” Aidan said softly, loosening his grip on Rei’s arm. He tilted his head to the couch and walked her over to sit down. Once Rei was settled down on the couch, thinking over what being a mate entailed, Aidan said, “You don’t have to think about it now. Once the danger has passed, we can talk about it.” To himself, he thought, I’ll tell her about the link later.

That's it for this week. Peace and love dear readers.

Preparing for the Season

Along with all my writing projects Autumn brings a bit extra excitement to the household. I love fall and almost everything that comes with it. Thankfully, I can over look the house maintenance that comes with preparing for the winter months. (Not my favorite of chores) Instead I can gloss over all that and get down to really enjoying everything.

I've already started getting things ready for Halloween. My daughter is pretty strong willed about her costume and it's always 50/50 if I'm going to have to make it or if I can buy it. This year she's found Monster High and zeroed in on the Chloe character. While I love that I can purchase this costume instead of trying to piece it together I was also told I'll get to be Cleopatra. Yay! I always wanted to try on royalty. While I get dodge stitching her costume together mine doesn't meet the budget. So I've already started looking around to piece together my costume.

With the costumes planned out I get to turn to one of my favorite pursuits. Movies! I always pick out movies for movie marathons with the family (or just on the random wine nights with friends). This year my daughter and I are negotiating a Scooby-Doo marathon and I'm working on a Witchy marathon list.

Oktoberfest and Pagan Pride day are also coming up. Oktoberfest is important not just for the fun of it, but because it's where my husband and I really hung out for the first time. It's also where we reconnected a few years later. Pagan Pride Day is special this year. It's the first year my daughter will be attending. She's been to the random gathering but never to something this big. I'm excited.

And of course I still have my writing to look forward to. My muse has left me a bit dry the last few months but she's starting to come back around. Sweeter Dreams seems to be trying to roll along and I've got a few short stories that need attention.

Anyway, time to start rounding up the new paranormal romance releases for the Full Moon Releases.

Love and Peace all!

A Sexy Dilemma

It's a My Sexy Saturday post and it's all for you! This week's theme is A Sexy Dilemma and I've pulled a dilemma from my latest novel, Lost Relic. As a choose your own adventure, this story allows the reader to make choices for our heroin, Lillian. So here's a sexy dilemma for my readers. Which man do you choose?

Daniel flashed a sad smile and said, “You’re a beautiful and smart woman. Do you trust Alex not to run off leaving a mess in your hands or do you want to come with me and we’ll make sure this discovery is recorded the right way?”

Lillian could only stare at him. He was asking her to leave Alex, drop him from the expedition and her life. It was an idea so far from left field that it had blindsided her, but somehow she was considering it.

“Well, Lil, what do you think?” Alex asked from behind her. “Do you go off with Daniel or do you want to stay with me?”

“Alex?” Lillian asked, pulling away from Daniel’s hand and turning to keep both men in sight.

Alex wasn’t even really looking at her. He was staring daggers at Daniel and Lillian could see the tense line of his jaw as he ground his teeth together. “He makes a good point, Lillian, and you are smart enough to figure this out. I am interested in the disk, but I’m not planning on running off after I get it.”

“Then what are you going to do with it?” Lillian asked, turning more fully to face him.

Finally looking at her, Alex’s eyes softened. “It’ll be my profit from this expedition. I don’t want a cut of anything else. Just that disk. So, now you know what I’m after. Do you trust me or do you not?”

That's it for this week. Hope you enjoyed and remember to hop on over to the other blogs for more great reads!

You can find your copy of Lost Relic on Amazon for just $2.99 or Free on KindleUnlimited.

My Sexy Reunion

It's a My Sexy Saturday post! This weeks theme is My Sexy Reunion. Knowing that Julia and Edmond from Fire Hunt have a long history together I've pull a bit from their story to share with everyone.

 Fire Hunt snippet:

Instead of focusing the conversation on his failed escape, he halfheartedly pointed at a framed picture on the dresser. “So how do I get there?”

He knew without looking that Julia was aware of every detail in the photo. It highlighted an old tire swing rocking over a large creek. For him, and maybe still for her, it was home. “I want to go back there, when the Saving Grace Act was just a right wing movement. Back before hell broke loose. When we were just kids playing out in the woods.”

Julie sighed. “We can’t go back in time. All we can do is save the future.” She let her arms drop and strolled over to the bed. With a huff, she sat down and finally looked over at the picture. “I didn’t want to leave.”

“But you did leave, Jul. I had you just one night and then you were gone. Not a word, not even a clue, about your idiotic plans. I broke down and demanded your dad tell me.” It had taken everything he had to march up to his coven leader and demand to know where Julia had gone. The condescending answer he had gotten had sent Edmund off on his own.

She let out a small chuckle from her perch on the edge of the bed. “That couldn’t have been fun. He was mad as hell when I told him.”

Her father had been more than angry, but at the same time he was over the moon happy with pride for his daughter. “No. He was proud. You were going to fight a different battle for all of us. His daughter was going to start a change for the better, and I was going to leave you alone,” Edmund said.

A whisper of a smile graced her lips as she gave her head a little shake. “You never could have walked this path, Eddie. It’s not your way.”

That's it for this week! Remember to hop on over to the other great blogs on the list below.

My Sexy ShowDown

http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.com/
It's a My Sexy Saturday post! I'm sure all the readers know how this work, but for anyone knew to the hop the rules are easy. Each author posts either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from one of their works. The snippet has to at least loosely fit the theme picked for the week.

This week's theme is My Sexy Showdown and I've pulled a decisive moment from my latest novel, Lost Relic, for all to enjoy!

Lost Relic snippet:

He turned his eyes down to the floor as if he was thinking and then said, “Not something I’d care to test myself.”

After a moment’s thought, Lillian shrugged. “Still, I suppose it would help feel the breeze when one did pass by.”

https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Relic-Interactive-Adventure-Romance-ebook/dp/B01H3VK8MSThe good natured chuckle he let out made her smile. It was nice being able to talk openly with a man outside of her family. That joy passed into the evening over several games and several drinks. Lillian was finding it harder and harder to ignore the strong attraction she had to the man. By the end of their third glass their game had slowed to a crawl and they were so intent on their conversation about local customs that Lillian had completely forgotten it was night or that they were alone in his private room.

Daniel was running his finger over the rim of his near empty glass and Lillian was leaned over the game board wondering where to move when he suddenly asked, “Lillian, how do you view me?”

Lillian paused, her hand midair as she reached for the throwing sticks. She blinked a few times at the sudden question, but recovered and answered, “Well, you’ve a fine background in archology and seem well suited to the career.”

“No. I mean how do you see me? Am I a man or just someone you’re working with?” Daniel asked, propping his chin in his hand.

“You’re both, Daniel,” Lillian admitted, looking away from him to take her turn.
